In New Irish Farm Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave of 20816 Gunner Stephen Chipchase, serving with the Royal Field Artillery who died 18/10/1917.

In St. Cuthbert's Churchyard is a family headstone for Chipchase which reads:

In loving memory of Ralph beloved husband of Sarah J.W. Chipchase died June 15th 1924 aged 73 years. Stephen their dear son was killed in action October 18th 1917 aged 27 years. Also the above Sarah J.W. Chipchase died May 8th 1927 aged 74 years - "Peace perfect peace"
