Brashier, W., Pte., 1915
In the Boulogne Eastern Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave of 2436 Private William Brashier serving with 'D' Company 1/7th Battalion, Durham Light Infantry who died 18/05/1915.

William Brashier was born at Durham on the 20th January 1895, he was the second son of James Brashier, and Sarah, daughter of Hugh McKee.

They later resided at 8 Castle Street, Castletown.

William was educated in Durham and enlisted at Sunderland. He died on the 14th May 1915, from wounds received in action, in the hospital at Boulogne. He was unmarried.

CWGC gives his date of death as the 18th May.
