Thomas Sampson, A native of Hull. Thomas Sampson resided in Demeses Mill House, Barnard Castle. He enlisted in 1905 serving 8 years with the 17th Lancers in India. Being a Reservist he went to war in France in 1914 and eventually demobbed in February 1919. Also, member of the Post Office Home Guard 8 September 1940 until it disbanded in 1945.
