Memorial Description
Plaque 34.5 cm high x 20.5 cm wide set inside an oak frame with glass front. At a later date this was set into a moulded picture frame 40 cm high x 26 cm wide of a different wood which was lacquered. Two picture hooks and a chain have been added to this later frame.
The words “Roll of Honour” are in an arc at the top. The names are listed in two columns divided by a double vertical line. The names of those killed are individually outlined. All lettering is in sans serif capitals throughout, apart from the header, which is elaborate capitals.

Notes
1. Up until Saturday April 25 1998 the Roll of Honour hung on the wall in the old Postman’s Delivery Office in Flatts Road (behind to Post Office Counter, 2 to 4 Galgate, Barnard Castle, DL12 8BE). Upon removal to the Harmire Enterprise Park Fred Fawcett, Enquiry Officer and Postman Higher Grade (PHG) relocated the plaque to the Callers Office.
