Whitfield, W., Cpl., 1916, alias Emerson

In Etaples Military Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave of 12512 Corporal Watson Emerson, serving with the Yorkshire Regtiment who died 10/10/1916.

His father, Thomas Emerson, died and his mother married again, becoming Mrs. Whitfield. Watson Emerson Whitfield served under his father’s name of Emerson.

There are three 'In Memoriam' Notices in theBlaydon Courier in the name of Emerson on 09/10/1920, 08/10/1921 and 13/10/1923.

He is remembered in Sacriston as Watson Whitfield on S113.04 and S113.07
