Bowater, J., L/Cpl., 1939-45 (1976)
Lance Corporal James Bowater, brother to Frank Leslie Bowater, was also reported missing in Chester-le-Street Chronicle 28/06/1940.

His wife, living at 17 Malone Gardens, with one child, had received an official notification that he was last seen at Warlecs (Belgium) on May 21st 1940 He was 30 years of age, and had previously worked at Birtley Company’s Works.

James Bowater survived the War and died in 1976 at Gateshead.
