In Bailleul Road East Cemetery, St. Laurent-Blangy, Pas de Calais, France, is the Commonwealth War Grave of 42506 Serjeant Thomas Mitchell serving with the 20th (Tyneside Scottish) Battalion, Northumberland Fusiliers who died 09/04/1917.

The Illustrated Chronicle 17/01/1919 contains the following request for information:

Can any soldier give information concerning the death or burial of Sergeant Thomas Mitchell, 42506, Tyneside Scottish, 20th N.F., B. Coy., reported killed on April 9th, 1917, in the battle of Arras. Any news up to that date or later will be thankfully received by his parents. Mr. and Mrs. George Mitchell, 389 Cross Rows, Urpeth, Birtley.

Thomas Mitchell is remembered at Bowburn on B149.01 and at Quarrington Hill on Q3.05
