Heslop’s Local Advertiser 19/10/1946

On Tower Hill Memorial is the name of Fifth Engineer Officer John Liddle Young, serving with the Merchant Navy who died 25/09/1942.

Heslop’s Local Advertiser 19/10/1946 and 18/10/1947 both carry an In Memoriam notice which reads:
“Young – Windy Nook, Engineer John Liddle, M.N., lost at sea Sept. 25th 1942.”

He is remembered at Windy Nook on W95.01 and on our List of Ships’ crews
