Heslop's Local Advertiser 20/07/1945

In Orvieto War Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave of 10600990 Trooper Joseph Rodney Cairns, serving with the Royal Armoured Corps who died 18/06/1944.

Heslop’s Local Advertiser 20/07/1945, 19/07/1947 and 17/07/1948 all carry a notice which reads:
“Caines (sic) –Windy Nook – Rodney, R.A.C., killed June 18th 1944 in Italy.”
The editions of 19/07/1947 and 17/07/1948 both carry a notice which reads:
“Cairns –Windy Nook, Rodney, killed June 18th 1944 in Italy.”

He is remembered in Windy Nook on W95.01
