In Reichswald Forest War Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave of 14798555 Private John Clish Lewis, serving with the Queen's Own Cameron Highlanders who died 24/03/1945.

Heslop’s Local Advertiser 09/04/1947 and 17/04/1948 both carry a notice which reads:
“Lewis – Windy Nook – Jack, killed in action in N.W. Germany, 24th March 1945”.

He is remembered in Windy Nook on W95.01
