Guy, T.L., Cpl., 1916
On Thiepval Memorial to the Missing is the name of 25106 Corporal Thomas Lowery Guy serving with 13th Battalion Durham Light Infantry who died 28/07/1916.

Brenda Mcmahon has submitted the following:-

Thomas was the son of Martin (coal miner) and Catherine nee Lowery Guy born at Kibblesworth in 1891. Martin and Kate had 4 children but only 3 survived. Thomas’ siblings were Margaret and John. In 1901 they were living at 24 The Square Kibblesworth.

In 1911 the family had moved to 62 Eden Terrace Oxhill and like his father Thomas was a coal miner hewer.

Thomas enlisted at Stanley and was later killed in action 28 July 1916 aged 25 years.

Thomas Lowery Guy is remembered at Kibblesworth on K23.02 and at South Moor on S129.01 and S129.02

He is also remembered in The DLI Book of Remembrance page 196

His brother John is listed as one who served on S129.05
