In Cojeul British Cemetery, St. Martin-sur-Cojeul is the Commonwealth War Grave of 45751 Private Charlton Thompson, serving with the Durham Light Infantry who died 10/04/1917.

A headstone in the Churchyard reads:-

10th April 1917 aged 20 years

Private Edward William Thompson
2nd Scots Guards
who fell in action in France
6th November 1918 aged 24 years
