On the Singapore Memorial is the name of 190022 Flying Officer James Conway Burns, serving with the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve who died 06/10/1945.

Simon Glancey has submitted the following:

F/O Burns was killed when Consolidated Liberator VI EW236 'K', nicknamed 'Audrey's Back', was lost in bad weather between the Cocos Islands and Singapore. The Liberator had been ferrying supplies, and was lost without trace along with the eight crew members.

Also lost in the same incident was W/Off. Peter Webb

He is remembered in Gateshead on G39.015
