In Crucifix Corner Cemetery, Villers-Bretonneux is the Commonwealth War Grave of 3301 Private Peter Kemp, serving with the Australian Infantry, A.I.F., who died 04/07/1918.

In Gateshead (Saltwell) Cemetery is a family headstone for Kemp which reads:

aged 74 years.
Also the above Helen Kemp
who died 13th February 1937
aged 86 years.
Mary Helen their daughter,
who died 24th Sept. 1902 aged 30 years.
Margaret their daughter
who died 7th Jany. 1908 aged 31 years.
George their son
who died 18th May 1914 aged 32 years.
Peter Kemp their son
Australian Imperial Forces
killed in action in France 4th July 1918,
aged 38 years.
John their son
who died 27th July 1930 aged 56 years.

Peter Kemp is remembered at Gateshead on G39.004 and at Bensham on B134.02 where his name is shown as “R. Kemp”.
