Stott, E.J., A/Bdr., 1918
In Busigny Communal Cemetery Extension is the Commonwealth War Grave of Acting Bombardier Edwin John Stott, serving with the Royal Field Artillery who died 17/11/1918.

Edwin John Stott was the fourth of six sons of Robert and Mary Stott of 6 Ravensworth Villas, Wrekenton and was born in about 1891. One of his older brothers was Joseph Stott who is also remembered on the memorial. In 1911 Edwin was employed as a colliery clerk.

He served as a territorial with the Royal Horse Artillery and Royal Field Artillery with 50th Division Ammunition Col., regimental number 772135, and was promoted to Acting Bombardier. He died of pneumonia on active service on the Western Front on 17th November 1918, at the age of 27. He is buried in Busigny Cemetery, in Northern France.

He is remembered in Eighton Banks on E50.01 and E50.02
