Thompson, H.J., Cpl., 1917
Coroners Court report No. 293 dated 11th June 1917 states

"Horace James Thompson aged 20 years, Corporal 19th Battalion Northumberland Fusiliers. No 19 Newton Street, Dunston. Found dead in the River Tyne near Redheugh Bridge at 6.55am on 10th.

Deceased was found dead in the River Tyne, but by what means he came to his death, or how he got into the River, there was no evidence before the Jury to show."

He is remembered in Dunston on D38.07, in Dunston Hill on D31.01 and in the Battalion History page 222.
