In St. John the Baptist Churchyard is a family headstone for Appleton which reads:

In loving memory of
Sydney Lawrence
The beloved son of John William and Lily Appleton
Who died Nov. 19th 1916
Aged 4 years and 3 months

Also of their son, Frank Rosevear
who was killed in action in France, May 20th 1917
aged 22 years.
