Geary, G.E., C.S.M., 1916
On the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial is the Commonwealth War Grave of 63395 Company Sergeant Major G.E. Geary, serving with the Canadian Infantry who died 08/07/1916.

Susan Carlisle writes:

George Edward Geary was a Durham Light Infantry veteran who enlisted in Calgary. By 1916 he was a Company Sergeant Major with the Central Ontario Regiment. He died on the 8th July 1916 at Ypres, and was posthumously awarded the Military Cross. His connection with Chopwell was the Smith family, who had befriended him during the war.
