On the Thiepval Memorial to the Missing of the Somme, France, is the name of 4/10027 Private Corporal Wallace Victor Sheriff serving with the 10th Battalion, Durham Light Infantry who died 28/08/1916.

His name is included in a booklet on the names on the Wolsingham Cenotaph compiled by Morris Ward.
