Brown, J.G., Pte., 1917

Menin Gate Memorial

On Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial is the name of 45810 Private Joseph Gardiner Brown, serving with the Durham Light Infantry, who died 31/07/1917.

His is included in a booklet on the names on the Wolsingham Cenotaph compiled by Morris Ward, which also states that his last known occupation was as a Horsekeeper in Limestone Quarry at Westgate.

He is remembered in Wolsingham on W128.02 and W128.05 and in the D.L.I. Book of Remembrance
