Alderson, T.A., Pte., 1916
On Thiepval Memorial to the Missing is the name of 32166 Private Thomas A. Alderson serving with the 10th Battalion of the Durham Light Infantry who died 16/09/1916.

Ron Shotton has submitted the following:-

Thomas Alfred was the son of John and Elizabeth Jane Alderson born c 1896. In 1911 the family were living at Low Etherley Farm and Thomas was an apprentice Coach Smith.

In 1916 Thomas enlisted at Seaham and 25/08/1916 went to France. he was killed in action three weeks later.

Thomas Alfred Alderson is remembered at High Etherley on H127.01 and H127.02 and at Bishop Auckland in B140.12
