In Elzenwalle Brasserie Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave of 10571 Private Robert Hodgson, serving with the 1st Battalion Royal Scots who died 08/02/1915.

Robert was born on the 22nd December 1893, at Auckland Park, Durham, he was the 2nd son of the late Edward Hodgson, and his wife Mary.

He enlisted on the 14th December 1909, and was sent to France on the 29th December 1914.

Robert died of his wounds received in action on the 8th February 1915, at Doorstraat. He was unmarried.
