In Bishop Auckland (St.Andrew's Cemetery) is the Commonwealth War Grave with a private headstone of P/JX392810 Able Seaman Harry Langford, serving on H.M.S. President III, who died 09/04/1944.

The headstone reads:-

In loving memory of
our dear son
Harry Langford
accidentally drowned while
serving in the Royal Navy
9th April 1944 aged 20 years
also of Henry his dear father
and beloved husband of
Lily May Langford
who died 6th Feb. 1954
aged 65 years

H.M.S. President III was an Accounting Base shore establishment at Bristol from 1939-1941, then at Windsor from 1941 to the end of the war.
