Mann, C.H., L/Cpl., 1917
In Roeux British Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave of 11562 Lance Corporal Cyril Harry Mann, serving with the Royal Scots who died 28/04/1917

H.J.M. has submitted the following:

Cyril was born in February 1892 and baptised five years later. Territorial Force records show that he served with the 6th D.L.I. (1450), was a bandsman and a single man whose occupation was a painter.

Later he enlisted with the Royal Scots Regiment and on transfer was described as an eligible candidate whose character was very good. He was further deemed “smart, clean and intelligent” by his new captain and had no black marks on his conduct sheet.

He is remembered in Bishop Auckland on B140.03, B140.12 page 14, B140.24
