Davison, R.S., A/Smn., 1918
In Delsaux Farm Cemetery, Beugny is the Commonwealth War Grave of Tyneside/4932 Able Seaman Robert Surtees Davison, serving with the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve who died 08/01/1918.

Robert was born on 25th May 1889 and was working as a miner living with his wife, Elizabeth at 32, Durham Road, Framwellgate Moor when he enlisted in the Royal Naval Division on 2nd June 1915. He joined the Drake Battalion on 10th January 1916 and he served until he was invalided to the UK on 8th April 1917 suffering from boils.

Robert rejoined the Drake Battalion on 23rd August 1917 but was invalided to the UK again on 24th October 1917 once again suffering with boils.

After rejoining the Drake Battalion on 25th March 1918 Robert died from the effects of gunshot wounds to the abdomen and left arm at 3.15 pm on 8th October 1918 in the 46th Casualty Clearing Station.

Robert Surtees Davison is remembered in Durham on D47.038 and in Framwellgate Moor on F40.01
