In Brewery Orchard Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave of 7775 Private Alexander Daglish, serving with the Northumberland Fusiliers who died 05/02/1916.

The Consett Guardian 02/06/1916 carries an In Remembrance notice:

"Daglish. Alexander, of Browney Colliery, Private in 11th N.F., killed in action in February, 1916. "

He is remembered in Browney on B160.01 and B160.02 and in Meadowfield on M50.01 and M50.05
