On the Helles Memorial, Turkey, is the name of KP/923 Able Seaman Frankland Smith serving with the Anson Battalion Royal Naval Division, Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve who died 04/06/1915.

Son of George and Jane Smith, of 16, Brancepeth, Co. Durham.

In Brandon (St. John) Church Cemetery is a family headstone which reads:-
