On the Thiepval Memorial to the Missing of the Somme, France is the name of 1715 Lance Corporal Arthur Robinson Walters serving with the 1st/6th Battalion Durham Light Infantry who died 05/11/1916.

Son of the late George and Ann Maria Walters.

In Spennymoor Cemetery is a family headstone which reads:-

Ann Maria
the beloved wife of George Walters
who died Sept. 10th 1916
aged 57 years
Also Arthur Robinson Walters
son of the above aged 22 years
who was killed in action Nov. 15th 1916

Arthur Robinson Walters is remembered at Spennymoor on S131.02, S131.03 and S131.11

He is also remembered in The DLI Book of Remembrance page 306
