In Spennymoor Cemetery is a family headstone which reads:-

In loving memory of
Harry
the beloved husband of Isabella Williams
who was severely gassed when on active service
died December 2nd 1918
aged 32 years

When alone in my sorrow the bitter tears flow
There stealeth sweet dreams of a short time ago
Unknown to the world he stands by my side
and whispers dear wife death cannot divide

Ever remembered by his loving wife and children

Harry Williams enlisted 8th September 1914 and was discharged 3rd July 1918. He served with the Royal Army Medical Corps with the service number 135503.

He does not have a CWGC entry as he had been discharged.

Harry Williams is remembered at Spennymoor on S131.02, S131.03 and S131.11
