Pte. 29256. 1 Bn. KOYLI (formerly 21/61 Tyneside Scottish N.F.) Died Dec. 1918. Born 1875 at Chester-le-Street. Enlisted 5/11/1914 with NF Tyneside Scottish as Pte. 21/61, later transferred to KOYLI. Gave address as Worm Hill, Fatfield, Penshaw, aged 39 years 152 days, occupation miner. Entered France 10/1/1916 and wounded in action 17/2/1916. Discharged as unfit 10/11/1917 and awarded a Silver War Badge. Address on army file 15 Burnett Street, Merrington Lane, Low Spennymoor.

Died December 1918, he is not buried in the Spennymoor area.

He is remembered at Spennymoor on S131.16
