Brenda McMahon has submitted the following:-
George was born about 1908 the son of John and Elizabeth Raine.
He attested and enlisted in 1927 in the Foot Guards.
George died of pulmonary tuberculosis at Kelling Sanatorium, Holt, Norfolk. At the time of his death he was with a holding battalion.
He is listed on the Army Roll of Honour 1939-45
George Raine is remembered at Kirk Merrington on K26.02 and at Spennymoor on S131.02 and S131.04
