Hughes, R., Pte., 1918
In Caudry British Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave of 7/16550 Private Richard Hughes, serving with the Border Regiment who died 11/11/1918.

The Blaydon Courier 12/11/1921 carried the following In Memoriam notice:

"In Loving memory of my dear sons, Pte. Richard Hughes, who died in France Nov.11th 1918; also Albert Hughes, brother of the above, who died at Tantobie, Dec. 14th 1916. Ever remembered by their mother, brothers and sisters."

Richard Hughes is remembered at Tanfield on T35.04
