Cedric Stanley Barron
Son of Mrs. Margaret Frances Barron, of Swiss Cottage, Shotley Bridge, Co. Durham.

Cedric was born in Shotley Bridge in the summer of 1897.His mother was Margaret Frances Barron and he was the elder of two siblings. His sister’s name was Ella. He grew up in the home of his grandmother, Margaret Barron, who came from Bywell in Northumberland. They lived at Swiss Cottage, Shotley Bridge.
Cedric worked as a postman. He was appointed as Assistant Postman in Shotley Bridge in April 1914 and as Postman in Newcastle-upon-Tyne in June 1916.
He enlisted in the Yorkshire Regiment (Green Howards) and was reported missing in August 1916. He is recorded asdying (aged nineteen years) on the 17th August 1916.
