The Blaydon Courier 04/06/1921 carries an In Memoriam notice:
"In loving memory of our dear son, John Thos. Purvis, who died at Laiton Camp June 2nd 1918. Beside his grave we often stand. With hearts both crushed and sore. But through the groan sweet words come. 'Not lost but gone before.'" Ever remembered by his mother, father and sisters and brother-in-law.
