Moore, H., A/Smn., 1916
In Ancre British Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave of KX/244 Able Seaman Harry Moore, serving with the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve who died 13/11/1916.

Colin Boyd has provided the following:

Harry was born on 10th October 1890. He was working as a miner living with his wife, Emily at 20 John Street, Consett when he enlisted in the Northumberland Fusiliers on 2nd September 1914.

He transferred to the RNVR on 7th September 1914 and joined the Howe Battalion on the same day. He served until 27th August 1915 when he was hospitalised with Balanitis.

Harry rejoined the Howe Battalion on 2nd November 1915 and was killed in action in France on 13th November 1918.

When his medals were forwarded his widow was by then Mrs. E. Grain living at 71, Dibley Street, Byker, Newcastle upon Tyne.

Harry Moore is remembered in Consett on C101.01
