Gleadle, A.F., Sgt., 1944
In Berlin 1939-1945 War Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave of 1526801 Sergeant Arthur Frederick Gleadle, serving with the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, who died 02/01/1944.

Simon Glancey has submitted the following:

Sgt. Gleadle was killed when Avro Lancaster I DV344 QR-V of 61 Squadron was lost on a mission to Berlin. The Lancaster crashed at Wiesenhagen, with the loss of all seven crew members.

Also killed in the same incident was Flying Officer John Storey

Tony Hibberd adds the following:

Lancaster DV344 QR-V had departed Skellingthorpe at 0001 for Ops Berlin. It was engaged by 1-5/schw Flak Abt 211 and schw Flakbattr z.b.V 5549, hit and shot down. The aircraft crashed at Kliestow t 0330.
