In Calcutta (Bhowanipore) Cemetery, Kolkata, India, is the Commonwealth War Grave of 1544605 Leading Aircraftman Richard Stobbs, serving with the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, 2943 Squadron, R.A.F. Regiment, who died 19/08/1943.

Simon Glancey has submitted the following:
Casualty Communique No. 306, in Flight Magazine, 18/11/1943, page 570, records that he Died on Active Service. His death is also reported in the Newcastle Journal 15/09/1943, page 4.

He is remembered at Annfield Plain on A38.01
