It will take time for the best search strategies to use when looking for a particular Memorial, or individual commemorated, to become clear.

Our advice at the moment, when searching for an individual commemorated, is to use the search boxes on the Home Page with a combination of surname only, and place - using the drop-down box.

That search will produce a list of War Memorials containing that surname in that location - these can then be examined in more detail to ascertain which are the relevant Memorials in respect of that individual.

Because of the varieties of local practice in using initials or full forenames on War Memorials we cannot yet recommend short-cuts to finding specific individuals but the advice above has been shown to be sound when tested.
