Original Location

Church of St. Mary and St. Stephen, Church Lane. On the north wall of the choir, to the right of the vestry door and close to the Communion rail.

Memorial Description

Plaque 18½ inches high x 41 inches wide set on a wood pattress. There is a wide border of laurel leaves. The main panel is divided into two sections. In the left smaller section is the regimental badge of The Buffs raised in half relief. In the larger right hand panel is the dedication, the lettering is in Roman capitals.

To the glory of God and in ever loving
memory of Hugo Cholmondeley Arnold
aged 19 years, elder son of the Revd. and
Mrs. H.A. Arnold, 2nd Lieut. 4th Reserve
Battn. The Buffs, who died in hospital at
Camiers, France, on June 12th 1917 of wounds
received in action on June 9th.
