Memorial Description

“Informal war memorial” comprising a plaque approx 5 inches high x 6 inches wide mounted on a wood pattress on which is the dedication in Roman capitals. This is accompanied by a small display in his memory which includes his beret, funeral flag and a painting of his vehicle and photographs.

1. Paul Atkinson was a victim of the so-called “Friendly Fire” incident.

2. His name is on the memorials at Birtley B127.01 and Kibblesworth K23.02. It also appears in St. Paul’s Cathedral, and the Chapel in the Tower of London.
