Memorial Description

Plaque with elaborately carved sides and top in dark wood, 3 feet 7 inches high x 2 feet 10 inches wide (1.09m x 863mm). The central panel is of lighter wood. This contains the dedication and the names listed in three columns. The lettering is painted in white, using Roman upper and lower case lettering with the regiments in italics. A name has been added onto the bottom frame.

1. A series of concerts was given by this church during the first two winters of the Great War. Upwards of 20,000 men attended fifty concerts. These were promoted by the Rev. W. Heath and Mr. and Mrs. J. W. McRobert. With them was a large band of willing workers. £200 was spent on these entertainments in cigarettes and refreshments.
In all, 122,000 men attended 630 entertainments which were carried out at a cost of over £1,800.
