Memorial Description

Pulpit.
There is a plaque recording the erection of a pulpit. |It has a mitre shape at centre top in which is an elaborate cross. There is a fleur de lys in the top two corners. The dedication is in Old English script. The names are listed in two columns in Roman capitals.
“It stands on pillars of red stone, the middle part being of Seton stone, capped with alabaster. It bears an inscription in Latin, the interpretation of which is: ‘The souls of the just are in the hands of the Lord, and the torment of death shall not touch them; they are in peace’”.
