Memorial Description

Roll of Honour in wood frame, overall size 2 feet 6 inches high x 1 foot 6 inches wide (762 mm x 457 mm). The words "Roll of Honour" appear at the top, written in gold letters on a blue ribbon. Beneath these are flags. At the bottom is a cartouche in which is a painting of the school. The memorial is hand painted, apart from the names. These are in a panel outlined in blue, printed in two columns in Roman lower case, those of the dead above those who served.

Not stated, but very similar to others made by Mawson, Swan and Morgan of Newcastle.

Notes

1. The memorial was stored somewhere after the school closed until it was rediscovered and placed in the Village Hall.

Alnwick & County Gazette 22/10/1921 reports that Sir Francis Blake, when he was unveiling the memorial in Crookham School, told how he had recently placed a memorial in Tillmouth School
