a. Unveiled 23rd April 1922 by Capt. Lindsay Hunting of Slaley Hall. Dedicated by Rev.J.H. Salisbury, Vicar of Slaley.

Memorial Description

Lych gate. Sandstone plaque on left (east side) 40.5cm high x 83.5cm wide records names from 1914-18. The plaque on right (west side) 15cm high x 82.5cm wide records the single name from 1939-45. On the 1939-45 plaque, the two dates appear in the top left and right hand corner respectively. The lettering is in Roman capitals throughout.

Oak on freestone base, with roof of grey slates. Sandstone plaques

Notes

1. The Committee who raised the money for the memorial were the Vicar(Rev. J.H. Salisbury); R.M. Ogle; T. Barron; G.C. Robson; T. Hall (Sen.), Sarah Hetherington and Barbara Willey.

2. The name of Gunner George Hudson was added in 1939.
