Memorial Description

Plaque, divided into panels, total height 8 feet 3 inches x 7 feet 3 inches wide, with dome at centre top. There are pilasters at each side with carving at the top. Inside the dome is a wreath raised in half relief with the words “Pro Patria” above and the dates of two great wars on either side.
Below this is a sunken brass plaque 1 foot 4 inches high x 3 feet wide. This has a cross in each corner. The dedication is at the top, the names are in two columns, divided by a cross, the lettering is in Roman capitals.
On each side of the brass plaque is a panel each bearing a wreath round a flaming torch raised in half relief.

Notes

1. Moved from entrance to a side hall, c.1980. The Memorial has been moved again recent years to what is known as the Memorial Room behind the refurbished Church room – which is now upstairs in the building. The bookcase is no longer in front of it. This latest relocation took place on the anniversary of its original erection.
