Notes

1. This memorial is similar in design to that at Teesside Airport (See T64.01)

2. The aircraft was a Lancaster X KB785 VR-Y which caught fire in a training flight while over the Bradbury bombing range. All the crew are buried in Harrogate. Bradbury is part of Sedgefield.

3. At the ceremony a memorial maple tree was planted by a brownie, a beaver, a cub scout and a guide. This was given by Mr. and Mrs. Amlin. Mr. Amlin had served with the Royal Canadian Air Force, which is how he met his wife. Mrs Amlin was the driving force behind the commemoration of the crash on the 50th anniversary.
