Memorial Description

Plaque on wood pattress. There is a border of interlocking “battlement” lines culminating in each corner with a leaf design. The names are listed in two columns divided by a vertical line. The lettering is sunk in casting and coloured black. The words “To the Glory of God” and the quotation are in Gothic script.
The dedication is in elongated Roman capitals and the names are in sans serif capitals.
Below this is a plain smaller brass plate on a wood pattress, on which the dates are in Roman letters and the names in sans serif capitals.

1. "For the sake of the young men newly returned from the war, a recreation room was instituted in 1919, and it proved extremely popular. Each night it was crowded with men who enjoyed not only billiards and table games, but also the fireside conversations." "Annals of a Country Church"
