Plaque 83cm high x 60 cm wide with moulded edges. The names are listed in two columns. All lettering is in raised Roman capitals.

1. A letter dated 13th June 1939 from the Cashier to the Managing Director states that 54 staff, including Industrial Workers, were to be called up for a fortnight’s Camp (Territorials), and 82 for a month’s Training (Territorials). In addition 3 members of the Emergency Reserve of Territorial officers were liable to be called up for one week’s Camp. There was one other member in the Civil Air Guards and 17 in the Balloon Barrage Corps.

2. Northern Electric is a descendent of two companies (Newcastle Supply and NESCO). When the company moved offices Ken Linge, Finance Director, ensured that the memorials went too.
