Unveiled and dedicated 2nd August 1949 by Very Rev. C.A. Alington, Dean of Durham.

Memorial Description

Book of Remembrance. Cover is 13 inches high x 10 inches wide (330mm x 254mm in blue leather, with tooled work in gold. At centre top is a cross with a badge on each side. Below this are the words “In memoriam” and the dates.
There are 14 pages 12 inches high x 9 inches wide (304mm x 226mm, spring bound, a page for each month of the year, each page having a wide heavily illuminated border, and the name of the month in gold at the top. The names are handwritten in order of date of death.
The book is displayed in an oak glass topped case 24 inches wide x 16 inches deep (608mm x 454mm).
