Unveiled 30th July 1922 by Lt. A.H. Appleby, late of 7th N.F., dedicated by Canon J.J. Davies, Rector of Morpeth.

Memorial Description

Plaque, rectangular with domed top, with decorative raised border to look like side-pillars, with a leaf raised in half relief in a sunken circle at top and bottom on both sides. There is an elaborate cross raised in half relief at centre top. The letters are in Roman capitals, the quotation at the bottom in italics. The name of the sculptor is along the bottom edge, the name on the left and the word “sculptor” on the right.

Notes

1. The clubhouse was the former home of Victor Amlett.

2. Mrs. Amlett gave the R.A.O.B. St. George's Lodge No.960 a chair of solid oak with leather upholstery in memory of her late husband, Primo Amlett, in March 1924.

3. The so-called spy, Victor A. Amlett, turned out to be a French War Hero.
